Window Tint Installation Guide

Welcome to the NosKings professional DIY installation guide. Our precut nano ceramic and nano carbon window tint kits are engineered for a precise, factory-fit application — no trimming required for most windows. Follow this guide carefully for a flawless, bubble-free result.

What You'll Need

  • Your NosKings precut window tint kit
  • Spray bottle filled with slip solution (a few drops of baby shampoo in water)
  • Felt-edge squeegee or microfiber cloth
  • Lint-free microfiber towels
  • Razor blade or precision knife 
  • Heat gun or hair dryer 
  • Clean, dust-free workspace

Step 1 – Prepare Your Vehicle

  1. Park in a shaded, dust-free area. Avoid direct sunlight and windy conditions.
  2. Clean the interior glass thoroughly with a glass cleaner and lint-free microfiber towel. Remove all dirt, grease, and adhesive residue.
  3. Wipe down the window edges and gaskets — dust trapped here is the #1 cause of edge lifting.
  4. Roll down the window 1–2 inches to clean the top edge of the glass.
  5. Allow the glass to dry completely before proceeding.

Step 2 – Prepare the Film

  1. Identify each precut piece — they are labeled by window position 
  2. Generously mist the exterior of the glass with slip solution. This prevents the film from sticking prematurely.
  3. Carefully peel the liner from the film. Have a helper hold one end if needed.
  4. Mist the adhesive side of the film with slip solution immediately after peeling.

Tip: Never let the adhesive side touch anything dry — it will bond instantly and be difficult to reposition.

Step 3 – Apply the Film

  1. Position the film on the interior of the glass. The adhesive side faces the glass.
  2. Use the slip solution to slide the film into its correct position. Align edges carefully — your precut kit is sized for a precise fit.
  3. For rear windows with curves, use a heat gun on low heat (or hair dryer) to gently shrink and conform the film to the glass contour. Work from the center outward.
  4. Once positioned, begin squeegeeing from the center outward to remove water and air.

Step 4 – Squeegee and Smooth

  1. Use firm, overlapping strokes from the center of the film outward toward the edges.
  2. Work methodically — top to bottom, left to right — to push water and air out evenly.
  3. Use a felt-edge squeegee near the edges to avoid scratching the film.
  4. Wipe away excess water with a microfiber towel as you go.
  5. Inspect for any remaining bubbles or water pockets and squeegee them out.

Tip: Small water bubbles are normal immediately after installation. They will evaporate during the curing process — do not attempt to pop them.

Step 5 – Edge Finishing

  1. Since your NosKings kit is precut, trimming is not required for most windows.
  2. For any minor edge overhang (typically rear windows), use a precision knife along the gasket line with a steady hand.
  3. Tuck film edges gently under the gasket using a hard card wrapped in a microfiber cloth.
  4. Re-squeegee edges after tucking to ensure full adhesion.

Step 6 – Curing

  • Do not roll down treated windows for a minimum of 3–5 days after installation.
  • Avoid washing the vehicle for at least 7 days.
  • Curing time varies by climate — cooler or humid conditions may require up to 2 weeks for full clarity.
  • Small haze or water pockets visible during curing are normal and will clear completely.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Bubbles After Curing

If bubbles remain after 2 weeks, they are likely air (not water) bubbles caused by contamination or insufficient squeegeeing. Use a pin to make a tiny hole at the edge of the bubble, then press flat with a squeegee. For large bubbles, the panel may need to be reapplied.

Dust or Debris Under Film

Dust trapped under the film appears as small bumps. If caught within the first few minutes of application, carefully lift the film edge, re-mist, and reposition. Once cured, removal and reapplication is required. Prevention is key — always work in a clean environment.

Film Not Adhering at Edges

Edge lifting is usually caused by residue on the gasket or insufficient squeegeeing. Clean the gasket thoroughly, apply heat to the edge, and re-squeegee firmly. Ensure the film is tucked under the gasket seal.

Haze or Cloudiness

Haze during curing is normal. If haze persists beyond 3 weeks, it may indicate the film was applied over a contaminated surface. 

Pro Tips for Precut Ceramic Film

  • No trimming needed — your kit is precision-cut for your vehicle. Trust the fit.
  • Work one window at a time — don't rush. Each panel deserves full attention.
  • Temperature matters — ideal installation temperature is 60–80°F (15–27°C).
  • Ceramic film is stiffer than dyed film — use slightly more slip solution and take your time conforming it to curved glass.
  • Rear windows — always use heat to shrink the film before squeegeeing to avoid finger creases.
